Golden Monkey Restaurant

Golden Monkey Restaurant has two family-friendly locations, one on Jalan Dewi Sita in Ubud’s centre and the other on the ground floor of the Beachside Icon Bali Mall by the beach in Sanur. Both Golden Monkey locations feature an elegant yet relaxed ambience that makes it ideal for couples, families, and friends celebrating special occasions – or anyone searching for the best and greatest Chinese food in Bali. The restaurants serve a wide range of Cantonese specialities and classic Chinese dishes, including favourites such as dim sum, BBQ selections, and traditional noodle soups. Golden Monkey is also renowned for signature dishes such as whole fish, clay pot specialities, and traditional Peking duck.

Our Story

In Chinese culture, food is about sharing, connection, and tradition, values we bring to every table at Golden Monkey. Whether it’s grandparents passing down stories over our signature Peking Duck, friends reuniting over a lively “dim sum battle,” or the comforting taste of favourite childhood buns.

We first opened our doors in Central Ubud, introducing the town to its very first authentic Chinese dining experience. Our restaurant quickly became a favourite among locals and visitors, known for its traditional Cantonese flavours and the joy of gathering around the table.

As the love for our dishes grew, we opened a second location in the family-friendly area of Sanur, creating another welcoming space for friends and families to come together, laugh, and share meaningful meals. With the addition of hotpot in Sanur, Golden Monkey continues to celebrate the spirit of communal dining, turning every meal into a moment of connection, conversation, and shared happiness.
